Pats vs Skins

SAN FRANCISCO, CA –

Much to the dismay of Coaches Burch, Ward, and Koutsouvanos, the New England Patriots eked out their seventh victory of the 2009 Madden VI season over the Washington Redskins, 27-20.

It was a very good battle. The Redskins held a 17-7 lead heading into the half and were set to receive the ball; however, on the opening drive Jason Campbell threw a mighty poor interception that Jonathan Wilhite took to the house for seven. The Patriots scored again on that pretty Brady to Moss connection after another defensive stand to go up 21-17.

The Skins retaliated with a quick field goal to tighten the gap to one, but the Pats again marched downfield leading to a Fred Taylor score. An ambitious Coach Kershaw went for two to try to make it a two possession game and got stuffed by Fat Albert Haynesworth, making the score 27-20 with about 2:00 to go.

Coach GVD took his battalion all the way down the field slowly and methodically, all leading up to one final play. With 0:02 to go from the Patriots’ 13, Coach Kershaw brought the house, hoping to get to Campbell before he could get the ball off. Instead, he threw the famous screen to a wide open Santana Moss, with blockers ahead. While everyone else on the field and sidelines thought Moss would be in for six and the tie game, Brandon Meriweather thought otherwise – he turboed his ass over to Moss, ducked around a lead blocker, and BOOM! Hit stick. Moss crumples to the ground at the two. Clock expires.

Patriots go to 7-3, and will keep their fingers crossed for Coach Kershaw’s third playoff birth in as many Madden seasons.

Eagles vs Jets

Eagles snap a 4-game losing streak by scoring 21 points in the 2nd quarter (14 in the final 36 seconds), and successfully not shitting the bed for the rest of the game.

Final score:
Eagles 21
Jets 17

Jets vs Dolphins

Game was even all the way through. JETS won the OT coin toss and had a nice drive only to lob it to a dolphin. But in the next play Pennington returned the favor. Back in control, the JETS continue their drive all the way to their own 40. 4th down and 6 to go, JETS make a decision to go for it. With just enough time in the pocket, Sanchez launches it for a touch down.

JETS are now 6 – 3

FINAL SCORE:
DOLPHINS – 17
JETS – 23

First the Giants, now the Pats?!

In their second of back-to-back games the Chargers beat the defending champion coach Kershaw and his newly acquired Pats. Solid D kept Brady from connecting with his receivers.

Vikings vs Vick

Vikings end a painful season

The Vikings took down the Eagles today 28-17, with 133 yds and 2 TDs from
Adrian Peterson, to finish season six at 4-6 and miss the playoffs for the
first time in the WK Madden league.

But will probably continue to beat Blaney online, so it's cool.

Blaney responded, "That's lame. I'm leading the pack in offense(sort of) and you barely beat me. I'm the JAGS remember and don't have the best RB in the world.

I'll bet you a 12 pack of any beer of your choice and a bottle of wine for me that I beat your ass tomorrow in Madden."

Skins vs Bills

D’Angelo ran back the opening kickoff (his 3rd kickoff for a TD in 2 games) and the defense did the rest putting up 21 more points on 3 pick 6’s against the Bills. Campbell’s 10 yard post to Coolie was the only offensive score from the offense.

Final Score
Skins 35
Bills 7

Let Me Call The Plays

With me at the reigns, and Jim Zorn nowhere near the playbook, the Redskins D & Special Teams put up 21 point on back-to-back kick returns for TDs and a pick 6 before Jason Campbell even stepped on the field. The defense continued to make Favre look like Sanchez and ran back an few more INTs for touches.

Final Score
Skins 51
Vikings14

Jets vs Bills

In a game quite similar penalty-wise to the real bills jets game on Sunday, the bills scraped one out against the jets. Sanchez was picked 3 times and there were like 15 penalties. Bills win 28-14 and stay perfect.

Chargers vs Vikings

While the Vikings D held LT to about 10 yards the whole game, they could not stop Rivers from marching down the field. Lots of penalties in this bad boy.

End of story

Patriots vs Dolphins

DALLAS, TEXAS –

The Patriots continued their winning streak with a 31-23 victory over a division rival, the Miami Dolphins.

The Pats dominated the first three quarters of the game, staking themselves out to a 31-7 lead, and with the only Dolphins score being a Ted Ginn Jr. kickoff return for a TD. Brady found Randy Moss for a score for the third straight week, while the defense earned three INTs, one for a score, and two fumbles.

The Dolphins scraped their way back into it with two 4th quarter scores, but it was Pats all the way in this one. Be afraid.

Patriots go to 6-2.

Bills vs Eagles

Vikings vs Falcons

One fumble changes everything.

It was a close one, tied 14-14 at the half. MIN took the lead at 21-14, then forced a fumble in the 3rd and put this one out of reach for the Falcons.

Favre: 12/14 and 3 TDs
Peterson: 126 yds and 1 TD

Jags Lose

Yep.

Classic blaneman. Classic Trent.

Patriots vs Vikings

SAN FRANCISCO, CA –

The Patriots earned their third consecutive victory on Thursday over the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 31-20. Tom Brady and Randy Moss had a nice spark for two scores, and Fred Taylor proved to be a weapon both on the ground and through the air while racking up 100+ yards and a TD.

Adrian Peterson is difficult to tackle, and scored all three Minny touchdowns while totaling 200+ total yards.

Patriots go to 5-2, and a playoff birth, after a rough start to the season, isn’t looking so far fetched.

The Pitts

The game stunk.

It was sloppy and technologically questionable (“If it’s in the game, it’s in the game” my ass), EA Sports. But, the Pitts had one less not-awesome thing happen to them and were able to come from behind and kick a field goal with :13 left to clinch their first win of the season:

Pitts – 10
Jags – 7

Pitts go 1 – 4.

~Coach Pittbags.

Chargers vs Falcons

The game was close up until the 4th quarter when the Chargers were able to pull away with an outstanding LT run breaking 6 or seven tackles in a row. Coach Mauriello played well but was plagued by a non existent passing game.

Game highlight (besides LT’s run): Darren Sproles running back a kickoff for a TD

Chargers vs Ravens

In an alltime snoozefest, the Falcons escaped with a 14-11 victory over the Steelers. Michael Turner ran over the computer-led Steelers Defense, amounting for 110 yards on 18 carries and 1 TD. The Falcons porous defense managed to hold the Steelers O to 118 total yards.

Vick Loses His V Card

Coach Behrends and the Eagles made the Steelers pay for not putting the game
away and earned their first W of the season. Final score 21-17.

Donovan McNabb sucked balls the entire first half, digging his team into a
14-0 hole and going 1-8 for 15 yards.

Enter Michael Vick's Bad Newz.

After some guy on my team took the kickoff 96 yards, Vick rushed into the
end zone for a TD on his first play of the game. The Steelers kicked a FG.

Vick then drove the field and threw a 43 bomb that got tipped twice and
caught at the 10 before rifling another TD into the end zone.

The Eagles killer D then made a 3-and-out stand with less than 2 minutes to
play in the 4th quarter. And Vick threw a 51 yard bomb for the game winning
TD to put the game out of reach.

Vick's final stats (for only 1 half of football):
149.3 rating
132 yards
2 passing TD
1 rushing TD

Pats vs Cards

DALLAS, TEXAS –

The Patriots officially got 2009 back on track with a huge 31-21 victory over the previously unbeaten Arizona Cardinals.

New England showcased a stingy defense for the second consecutive week, limiting the high-octane Cards offense to only one score in the second half. Meanwhile, Tom Brady looked more like 2007 Tom Brady than he has at any point this season, at one point connecting with Randy Moss and Ben Watson on back-to-back offensive plays for 75+ yard TDs.

Fred Taylor added a lovely 10 yard touchdown on a FB fake HB toss that caught the defense off guard, and the Pats D had a 4th-quarter TAINT to stick a fork in it.

Patriots go to 4-2.

Jags vs Skins

JAGS get first win of season behind career day for Garrard.

Garrard: 18-21 4 TD's 273 yards

Pats vs ATL

In another turnover-filled game, the Patriots edged out the Falcons 17-14 on Friday. Tom Brady looked like the stud QB of old on only one drive, connecting with Randy Moss on a beautiful fade route in the end zone for a TD – but also continued the interception parade, getting picked twice, once for a TAINT.

The Patriots D showed a marked improvement from last week’s debacle vs. the Ravens, however, allowing zero points – the Falcons had all 14 of theirs courtesy of the defense.

Patriots go to 3-2.

I! N! T! S! Jets! Jets! Jets!

The Jets winning streak ends at 4...which ironically, is the same number of INTs thrown by Mr. Sanchez. The Skins defense forced 5 turnovers and put up 21 points in the first half.
